Degrees Don't Make Me Educated

Degrees Don't Make Me Educated
Often, we mistake degrees with education. Sadly, many of us attend school to get a degree (with a high GPA), get hired by prestigious employers and be rich someday, instead of learning to exercise our faculty of intelligence.

We often witness the most inhumane behavior in the most educated societies. Class system is mostly prevalent in the elite societies. Oftentimes, "education" leads us to be more arrogant and dominant. What then is the purpose of education if it fails to elevate us morally?

Institutions can never educate us unless we decide to be educated. Institutions can only make the process easier by providing us with the resources. However, we limit the use of those resources within the class syllabus. Whereas, those resources should be utilized in all spheres of our lives to build more sound societies.

DEGREES OF FREEDOM (A sonnet)

DEGREES OF FREEDOM (A sonnet)
Degrees of freedom are the safer zone
In an inverse proportion to the hope
When I decide to walk to be alone:
Lesser the time, than broader is the scope.

Ten minutes are enough to feel the girth
Of time and space that thicken and expand
Contracting as the sun strides on to the earth
When time implodes and lets space in command.

I count the time on fingers that are less
In number than the steps I’m taking to
Walk to the place where time will coalesce
Flooding again with rays my field of view.

The constant is non-zero: and if you multiply
Variable time with space you’ll have your own reply.
